Lazy lunch for D

Apart from being lazy, I was running out of ideas on D's lunch menu. Having searched the mart through and through, it suddenly dawned upon me - why not give that yummy-looking canned creamy mushroom soup a go?

Smothered toasted wholemeal bread with low fat cream cheese and cut it into 4 strips. D finished them in no time.

Picnic-time!

Inka came up with a great idea to have family picnic one day and the whole idea got me very excited! Attendees would be DD, Inka, Mr. Blockhead, our 'lil people and myself. The date was set and we prayed really hard for good weather. Thankfully, the skies were cloudy with cooling breezes...

Inka prepared a hot favorite for everyone - a non-spicy Nasi Goreng with belachan. It's easy to see why we were all busy helping ourselves round after round, eh?

On my end, things were much simpler - choc chip loaf & milk bread with nutella spread; french toast rolls with mozzarella cheese and another version with peanut butter.

To save myself the embarrassment, I ate most of the bread ^~^;;

D's breakfast

I don't know what came over me this morning, but I just wanted to make D a better-than-average-looking breakfast. Afterall, so much was spent on those cutters, picks and cutesy-looking forks. So, I did what I could despite all the morning madness around the house.

His menu was Cinnamon French Toast Cheese Rolls with scrambled eggs and freshly cut strawberries on the side. Sounds pretty impressive, eh? Nah. It was pretty easy. All I had was:

• One egg
• A dash of cinnamon powder
• A slice of bread (sides trimmed away)
• A slice of mozzarella cheese
• 50ml skimmed milk
• 2 strawberries, diced

And all I did was:

Add a dash of cinnamon powder to a lightly beaten egg and beat a little more.
Cut bread into 4 equal-sized strips and coat bread well in egg batter.
Brown egg-battered bread strips on heated pan (coated with cooking spray).

Trim cheese into 4 equal-sized strips too.
Place cheese onto toast-strips and roll. Secure rolls with picks.

Add skimmed milk to leftover egg batter, beat and cook on low heat.
Keep stirring until egg mixture thickens and ready to serve.

There, put all together and voila!
D enjoyed his breakfast and it made my day :)

Pooh Sandwich breakfast

Ordered the Pooh sandwich mould cutter sometime ago. Have yet to tried it since D wasn't so keen on having bread. And what's worse was, he had a bad cough last week. But I'm really eager to try it, even if it's meant for myself.

After scrambling through the kitchen to pack lunchbox for hubby and greeted goodbye, I decided to give the dust-covered cutter a try.

The cutter's sharp, compared to some other cutters that I've bought from Daiso. However, the bread I have was a tad too small for it.

Nonetheless, D managed to eat half of it. Wasn't a bad try. Perhaps toasting it under a minute would've given Pooh a nice tan.
